To be honest with you, bathroom fitters in London are not cheap. This is because bathroom installation is a highly specialised job. These people have spent years plying their trade and thus they have the right to charge slightly higher prices than most other trades. Don’t worry though. This is not a rip off. If you hire the right bathroom installation specialist you are going to certainly get value for money.
Now, due to the price of hiring a bathroom installer it is likely that you are going to want to think long and hard about whether you really need one. On this page I want to take a little at a few situations where you won’t need a fitter and a few situations where you will. Obviously I will not be able to cover every eventuality here. Hopefully the information you pick up from this page though is going to give you the exact information that you need to determine whether this type of professional is who you need.
The most common scenarios where you need and don’t really need a bathroom installation specialist
Situation 1: You wish to swap a shower for a bath or vice versa.
This is a situation where you are almost certainly going to wish to search for the bathroom installation team. Swapping these two around is going to take a lot of work. In fact, some sections of the bathroom may even need to be modified in order to fit in the new appliance. Now, the actual fitting could probably be done by a plumber although they really do not understand about bathroom design and bathroom installation and thus may find it difficult to ensure that everything looks fantastic. All they really can do is plumb the items in place. Your bathroom fitters (providing they are good) should have skills to do this.
Situation 2: You are replacing the units in your bathroom
Perhaps one of the best ways to give your bathroom a completely new look is to replace your units. Whether you will require a bathroom specialist or not will be based on what style of units you have. For example, it is likely that you will be able to install freestanding units yourself. However, it is unlikely you will be able to hang them, to ‘attach’ them to the wall on your own. I mean, it is possible but it is going to be incredibly difficult to get them looking right. Of course, hiring a bathroom installer is going to be useful regardless. They can ensure that your bathroom looks absolutely perfect.
Situation 3: You wish to change minor details in your bathroom such as painting the walls or changing the taps
You are not going to require a bathroom fitter in this situation. Minor bathroom installation which deals with very small cosmetic changes are probably going to be best performed by a general handyman.
Sure, a bathroom installer will be able to accomplish the job, but you are going to save a lot of money by visiting a handyman.
You could even perform this type of job yourself. It is not going to be too difficult to get it looking right.
Situation 4: You are installing a completely new bathroom in a very limited space
It is important that you search for a bathroom installation specialist if you are faced with this job. Many people fail to realise how big of a task of bathroom installation actually is. The job of a bathroom fitter here will be to not only plan the bathroom to ensure that all of the elements that you want incorporated into the room are actually there but to also ensure that everything actually fits in perfectly when it comes to the actual fitting. I never suggest that you tackle a bathroom installation on your own. There is just so much that can go wrong with the project that it is not worth it. Trust me. If you hire a bathroom installer you are going to save yourself so much time and aggravation.
Situation 5: You are fitting a brand-new bathroom. You may be installing a few appliances. In this situation you may have specific ideas in mind but you have nothing down on paper. Do you need to hire a bathroom fitter?
This is another situation where I absolutely advocate the hiring of a bathroom installation specialist. Remember, they are not only going to be there to install the actual bathroom. They will also be able to help you out during the planning stages. Their job will be to listen to the sorts of ideas that you have about your bathroom and get them planned out. They will come up with a design that is not only a reflection of what your ideas are (although in a much more workable format as it is unlikely that all of your ideas can be included), but they will also ensure that your bathroom is designed to your budget. They may even be able to help you when it comes to the sourcing of parts!
Situation 6: You have extended your property and what to install a new bathroom in a new location in your home.
This is a job which is pretty much tailored made for bathroom installers. They will be able to turn your brand new room into a new bathroom with ease. This means that they will be able to tackle all the plumbing, all the electrical work and ultimately finishing up the bathroom installation when it comes to the installation of your appliances and units. I do not think there is going to be anybody better out there at tackling this sort of job than a bathroom installer so make sure you hire one! This again is going to be worth the money!
As mentioned previously, this is just a small selection of situations where you may or may not need to hire a bathroom installation specialist. It is unlikely I have covered your specific situation here. Just remember this rule though. If anything more than minor work needs to be carried out then hire a bathroom fitter. They will tell you whether they are the best option or not.
